The Mind’s Wardrobe
A performative practice using psychoanalysis of fairy tales, where participants transform curated materials into garments that assist the transformation of the person who carries them.
About
The Mind’s Wardrobe is a series of performative sessions inspired by the psychoanalysis of fairy tales. In each session, participants enter a temporary installation, becoming part of the unfolding work. Together, we dig into the archeology of fairy tales, uncovering hidden layers and bringing their forms and meanings to life through collective making.
The sessions take place in the artist’s studio. For each story, the space is rearranged and becomes a temporary installation for the performance. Within this setting, materials already carrying traces of labour, identity, and use are worked with collectively. Participants pull, unravel, and recombine them, gradually assembling a wearable piece charged with meaning.
The materials used in the project are found, recycled, or grown, carefully selected in consultation with circularity experts. Each piece is chosen for its ability to respond to the narrative and psychoanalytic processes explored in the session.
Materials are activated by participants, who collectively transform them in dialogue with the story, creating garments that reflect shared exploration and insight.
The sessions are monthly changing.
